"State Farm is the absolute worst. In over 30 years of driving I never had to file a claim for anything, then when I finally did, their "in-network" repair shops were backlogged for months and wouldn't even accept new jobs... I had to beg the dealer I bought the car from to make space and repair it (still took two months) otherwise my car would have been left out on the street for months after it was already broken into... The agents are worthless; when push comes to shove, you're 100 percent at the mercy of the 1-800 call center claim adjusters. The agents just make cash off of fast-talking you into more coverage; when you need them, they play the "we don't have control over that" card. Next time you have a claim, call your agent and see what they can do. From my experience, it's utterly nothing. Anyways, State Farm only gave me $1200 in what turned into around $4500 in repairs. Again, the only other option would be to leave my car out on the street while praying (and repeatedly calling) the small handful of shops in the area that are in their network in hopes a spot for a repair in several months would open up. I paid all those premiums all those years and then the ONE time I needed them they completely ditched me. Now, their website won't accept either of my credit cards and Bakken is harassing me to pay it. Everyone else in the world accepts both credit cards, including this morning, it's only State Farm that says "payment declined." I had autopay successfully pay for years; nothing changed on my end, only State Farm decided to not process it as usual. What does Bakken Agency say? "the payment system is out of our control." Right, just like help is when I actually need it! I switched to Progressive today and I recommend everyone stay away from State Farm, they're utterly useless when you really need them and will shamelessly leave you out in the cold. Progressive was also almost half the cost for just about the same coverage. The true worth of insurance companies comes when you actually need to file a claim; everything else is just fast talk. Spend some time searching State Farm on Reddit; you'll see I'm not alone. All they want is to cash your checks; they'll ghost you when you actually need help."
